Cirebon, Just Another Trip

It just another work trip. But I won't discuss that, it's boring. I'm just gonna share these pictures I took while wandering around, not paying attention to the speakers.. :D
First pic, that was a paddy field. Common throughout the country. I just love it coz it reminds me of my childhood, my elementary school years where we drew this a lot.

And this second picture is the story of Jaka Tarub. I saw the painting at a local art gallery, Brana, and is fascinated by it. The colors, how the artist interpreted the story, is quite amazing. Jaka Tarub tells a story about a young boy who was peeping at seven angels bathing at the river. Never see such beautiful creatures, Jaka Tarub decided that he will force one angel to stay, by stealing her clothes. Or scarf, apparently, in this picture.

Well, regardless on which version you choose, with clothes or without, Nawangwulan, the angel, is stuck on Earth and was "found" by Jaka Tarub who helped her. He took her to his house, care for her and they eventually got married and started a family.

But as you might have guess, eventually Nawangwulan found out the real reason she had to stayed on Earth, she found her angelic clothes/scarf/whichever, hidden by Jaka Tarub. With some hearth-breaking goodbye, Nawangwulan then came back flying to the sky where she belongs, and left Jaka Tarub, just like that.

The story is sad. But I just love the painting.
And this is me, practising my photography skill.. I learned few interesting tricks from some photo journalist, I think there was something called framing, panning, and few other things.. :D
