| it's late, and I'm sleepy |
But being a journalist who usually requested to be present in these kind of events, I feel kinda reluctant to have to pay for tickets. Well, I'm no longer writing 'bout music, so the free tickets went to my coworkers, I'd have to pay to watch. It costs about US$50 (Rp500.000), not that expensive, but hey, it's still money.. :D
Luckily, free tickets is around if you know where to look. I vaguely remember, one of my colleague used to have free tickets from the sponsors and that he never go to the festival. Guess he's not a jazz fans either. He would then offered them to anyone who want to watch. Maybe this year it should be me, I thought. So I went and find him.
A nice guy, my colleague, he granted my request for the ticket without hesitation. Guess he really is not a jazz fans. And a day before the festival he gave me two tickets to watch Joss Stone (!). Surprising, coz I thought there was only one ticket, but delighted nevertheless.
So I asked my BFF Yeni who sat beside me if she want to go, but she understand me too well to know that if I'm gonna bring someone, it's going to be that curly guy who once claimed that he likes jazz. She just smile and said, "Of course I'm interested to go, but you better check with him if he want to go".

| I wrote "Arie was here" and Yeni added"Me too". And I thought I was the weird one :D |
And so it was a fun girls night out. It was fun, really. Going out with a girl means you get to shop for souvenirs without getting complaints. And that since I only want to see Joss Stone who's performing later that night, we don't have to be too serious about watching other musicians. Both of us are not really jazz fans, but we finally settled to watch a real jazz band called Miles Smiles. It's good. The present of chairs in front of the stage also help too, we can just relax, sitting down, listening to the music and have a casual chat. Not the serious kind of chat like these two guys behind me who's commenting 'bout the way the musician plays, but mainly about us, boys, and other girls talks.

Although, maybe I should put in note, in the afternoon, that curly guy texted me and ask if the extra ticket is still available. I remember I felt really amused and laughing hard to the question, but sorry honey, you missed your chance. There's no way I'm going to cancel Yeni, not when we're already on our way to the venue.
So I try not to think about him too much that night, well, like you might have guessed, it didn't work. He still popped up in my mind. But he's being too little too late, he might have to straighten up his priority.
Half an hour before midnight, Joss Stone started performing. Beautiful performance, I must say. Beautiful singer, too. Wearing a skimpy handkerchief dress, she performed barefoot, like she always does.
The crowd went nuts when she started singing "You Had Me" including me. Well, that one song is the one I really like coz I used to sing it after a breakup. Haha.. But she sang other songs too and eventhough I don't know all of them, she's just amazing.
That was one great night.. Love it.
