A friend emailed me this few weeks ago with a note: you might be interested. Of course I am. Ever since "Jeremy", I've been listening to Pearl Jam (to Eddie Vedder's sexy sexy voice, to be precise) so I really want to go watch this tribute night.
So I went with the girls, it was intended to be girls night out, to get all the fun. And it was, fun.
There were five bands playing and more than five singers, they have guest stars on stage, like Fadly from the band Padi or the cute Che from Cupumanik who are among the few who can really sing Pearl Jam. The other singers.. Well, I'm just gonna say, it's not easy to sing Pearl Jam. You'd have to have the right kind of voice or the right kind of attitude to be able to deliver the songs beautifully. Oh, there were a female singer too, who tried to sing "Daughter" but I don't like it. Not because I'm against a girl sings, but I don't think she understand the song. And that just bothered me. She sang it too cheerfully, I feel like watching Idol or that other singing show, whatever.
Anyway, I don't really know the bands, I've been in this kind of tribute night just this once but it was a great night. The bands did their best and some of them nailed it, so it was cool.
And since my birthday is coming at the end of this month, Yeni decided that she might as well bought me something from that night, I got a t-shirt and I'm loving it. It says "bring Pearl Jam to Indonesia" and I totally agree. Bring Pearl Jam to Indonesia!!
